GOT7 is a Kpop boy band with a decidedly hip-hop sound. Not all of the members are actually from South Korea. Some of them are from Hong-Kong, Thailand and USA. GOT7 won the Best New Artist Group at the Seoul Music Awards and was nominated three times at the 29th Golden Disk Awards.

This band was actually formed by Jackie Chan. JJCC stands for Jackie Chan and Join and Cultures. It is basically translated to “Jackie Chan, let’s spread k-pop.” The name is a tribute to the legend that is Jackie Chan and his effort to join cultures through music.

2PM is obviously a Kpop band, but unlike the other Kpop bands, instead of capitalizing on being cute and adorable boys, they decided to construct a tough and macho beast-like image of themselves when they made their debut. It was actually 2PM, who are responsible for the creation of the “jimseung-dol” (jimseung means an animal or beast in Korean) phenomenon in 2008.
