While it may not seem like it, kissing does incorporate an incredible amount of muscle power. It takes around 146 muscles to perform a simple French kiss, including 34 facial muscles and 112 postural muscles. If you, for some reason, want to use less muscle power, then a simple peck will do. It uses only 2 facial muscles! But the more passionate the kiss, the more muscles are needed.
Kissing is healthy
While kissing is an incredible mood booster, it has lots of other health benefits as well. For instance, kissing strengthens your immune system, prevents cavities, and relieves aches and pains. Not only should you kiss because you’re in love, but you should also kiss for your health!
Not all people kiss
While we generally consider kissing a universal thing, there still exist cultures that don’t really kiss. In fact, around 10% of the world’s population doesn’t kiss at all! Instead of kissing, these people show their affection by biting or licking their partner. Well, that’s definitely different!
