10 Reasons Why Guys Lose Interest Quickly

Not even guys themselves can always tell you why the interest is suddenly gone. Was it just a fling? Was it even there in the first place? Psychologists spend years studying relationships with all their ins and outs, so by now they have more than just a few ideas as to why a man can suddenly grow cold. We, ladies, also have our guesses, but it’s still hard to say for sure. Do guys get bored or is it something that women say (or don’t say, for example, when a conversation doesn’t seem to be going anywhere)? Here are a few things that may be responsible for him losing interesting in you.

You can’t carry on a conversation
Relationships don’t get built on physical attraction alone. You have to have something in common, otherwise you will soon get tired of each other. If you are into rock’n’roll and he’s a devout country fan, your road trips might soon turn into hell on earth as you’ll want to get out of the car as soon as possible. And if he voted for Trump and you are totally against him, it will also be hard for you to build something good together. If you’re at a dead end with a guy, try some ice breakers like questions about his fave sports team (if you have one yourself) or ask about his hobbies. But if you get stuck there – just relax and let him go. It wasn’t meant to be.

He has other priorities
There’s something really alluring about ambitious guys that know what they want in life and how to get it. Alas, this means that the majority of his time will be spent on work and studies. Building successful relationships is not on his to-do list right now, and won’t be for a long time. Men like this can be available for a night or two, but don’t expect them to sacrifice their goals for love and affections.

He found a hotter girl
As banal as it may sound, sometimes guys just find someone better-looking. If what he wants out of a relationship, however fleeting, is mostly passion and freshness, then he won’t stay with you for long. Guys like this will jump from one attractive female to another in order to not get bored, ever. If something like this happens to you, just accept this experience and try to better understand this type of guy in order to avoid him in the future.

Something serious happened
Life is full of surprises, and not all of them are pleasant. Whether it’s problems with health, death of a relative or the need to go live in another city, a man can suddenly decide to tie up loose ends and disappear from the dating scene. There are times when people need to be alone – to redefine themselves and think about what to do next. If your relationships suddenly ended like that, just speak with the guy sincerely to know where the two of you are standing. If it’s over, then it’s best for you to move on with your life.

The physical chemistry was a bit off
You might not feel it, but he certainly does. If the chemistry is there, it’s there and you can’t mistake it for anything else. But if he has his doubts and doesn’t feel quite as passionate as he should have, then your relationships are in trouble. It’s always a huge insult for women as they think that something is wrong with them, but it’s no one’s fault, really. You two are just not that compatible, that’s all. And while the physical aspect is not the only thing that helps build successful relationships, you certainly can’t ignore this part. Once you find a guy you have perfect chemistry with, you’ll be glad you’ve spend some time searching for ‘the one’.

He took you for granted
Relationships are all about balance and if you feel that you are giving much more than you’re receiving back – then it’s time to re-think the whole concept. If a guy gets all he wants with little to no effort, he might get too comfortable. It’s good to take care of a person you love, but it is also important to be on the receiving end sometimes. If he mostly cares about himself and expects you to do all the hard work, you are better off without him. Relationships are a game played by two, and if one side is being indifferent taking all the good things for granted, then it’s a game that will soon end.

He is not over his ex
There’s one more reason why your relationships aren’t going as smoothly as you want them to – he’s still thinking about his ex. If a guy often talks about his ex (even with you!) and stays in touch with her friends and family, it’s a definite sign that he hasn’t moved on yet and there are chances of them getting back together. It’s best to talk to him about this matter, and maybe give the other girl a call, too! This way you’ll avoid unnecessary drama in your life.

You’re being friend-zoned
You can go through heaven and hell with him and you still remain no more than friends. Why does that happen? Being friends is not a bad thing, in fact, friendships often last longer than any other type of relationships between people. Also it’s comfy to have a girl that is also a friend, and nothing more. You can talk about anything at all! But if you enjoy spending time together and occasionally end up in one bed, then it’s something else entirely. ‘Friends with benefits’ seems to be quite a popular trend these days and is especially handy for those people who don’t want to commit to something more serious. But be careful as it’s easy to get hurt in this kind of relationships.

He already got what he wanted from you
For some guys a one-time hook up is just enough. They just want to spend a night (maybe two) with a woman, no strings attached. If you’re looking for something more serious than that, it would be wise to avoid getting intimate too early in the game. Get to know each other a little better and if you feel that all he wants is to get in bed with you – then go look for someone else. Unless, of course, you don’t mind it, but then be prepared to let him go sooner rather than later.

He’s a player
For some guys – the more women they bed, the better. It’s especially true for younger college guys at their ‘20s who still like to experiment and don’t want to commit to long-term relationships (or any relationships for that matter). No matter how cool, smart, or beautiful you are, he will still go and search for something better, just because he’s a freedom fighter who doesn’t want to settle down, not in the nearest future. Such guys are usually pretty straightforward about their relationship goals (or rather, the complete lack of those) so if a guy tells you he doesn’t want relationships, don’t think it will be easy to change his mind. You’ll probably spend some time fighting, but in the end you will still go your separate ways.
