The Lazy Girl Guide To Getting A Boyfriend

Newsflash! You don’t have to put in a ton of effort to get yourself a boyfriend. While other girls might enjoy the game of dressing up, going out and flirting with men IRL, we lazy girls have found a way around it. Our methods require no dressing up, minimal effort, and practically no venturing out of our comfort zone. We’re here to prove that you don’t even really have to go out into the real world to find a boyfriend. Sounds interesting? Well keep on reading then.

1. Dating websites
Does anyone even meet people in bars and clubs anymore? We’re pretty sure that’s not the case nowadays. Everything is online, and 20 years from now, we’re all going to tell our children the story of how we met their dad or mom on Tinder. It might not be the most romantic story, but hey, this is real life. Not everyone gets a heart stopping moment of meeting the love of their life while taking a walk in a field of daisies, sometimes it’s as simple as swipe right. And you know what, we bet 20 years from now no one will judge us for that, because we’ll be evolved enough to understand that “how we met” isn’t important. What’s important is that we did meet.

2. Tumblr
If Tinder is a bit too much for you, and you don’t want to judge the person you meet by their physical appearance alone, try starting a blog. We’re not saying it has to be a super professional blog named “single and ready to mingle” but everyone has a Tumblr, and believe it or not, people do talk to each other there. The important thing is to actually treat it as a personal blog, and write some of your own thoughts and post your own pictures and contact, as well as re-blog some things that represent your views, opinions and personality. Just re-blogging cat pictures and dank memes will get you nowhere.

3. Mass Text
It might be a bit on the nose, and way to brave for some, but you’ve got to admit that it’s the most efficient way of letting people know you’re single and on the lookout for a boyfriend. Maybe some of your friends were actually wondering if you’re looking to date someone and will make a move, or maybe they know someone perfect to set you up with. Facebook is another way of announcing your desire to find a man. It can be as subtle as setting your relationship status to single, or as obvious as crafting a post that will let people know.

4. Skype
Once you’ve actually found a guy you like, you can always Skype with him. This way it’s more personal than texting, because you both don’t have a ton of time to craft an answer, but it’s less effort than an actual date. You’re still building a connection, but you don’t have to put on a proper outfit to go out, and you don’t have to clean your entire apartment to invite him over. Just put on a casual top and shove all the mess out of the frame and you’re done. You’re effectively on a date, while still wearing your PJ bottoms.

5. Netflix Date
If you’re one of those people who’s naturally neat, and your apartment always looks good – invite him over for an evening of Netflix and chill. You can wear comfy clothes like an old pair of jeans and a t-shirt, or some leggings and an over-sized hoodie, you don’t have to do your hair – just put it up in a messy bun. You also don’t have to worry about what movie to choose and what restaurant to go for a meal after, because you can choose a movie/tv show on Netflix and have some takeout, or you know, a pizza.

6. Date People You Know
Few of us consider this option, but sometimes dating men you know like friends, colleagues, friends of friends can be a good alternative to bar hopping in search of man. Think about it, you already know these people, you’ve got things in common, and you’re not very likely to find any skeletons in your closet that you don’t already know about. Plus, relationships that start as friendships are more likely to last.

7. Wear a Dress
If you do decide to actually go outside and expose yourself to the elements in order to find a boyfriend – wear a dress. It’s a well kept secret, but dresses are actually way less effort than any other item of clothing. You don’t have to match tops and bottoms, you just wear one thing and instantly look put together and like you’ve made a ton of effort.

8. Flirt With Your Eyes
Lots of women get nervous when they have to go up to a guy and start a conversation, or if they have to be the first to start flirting. Well, there’s a way around that ladies. Just flirt with your eyes! Look at the guy you’re interested in, establish eye contact, look away bashfully, look again, then look him up and down and smile. Before you know if he’ll come over and start talking to you. And all you did was bat your eyelashes at him.

9. Use Movie Lines To Flirt
This is a great options for girls who are too shy or too lazy to think of chat up lines. Instead, you can use lines from your favorite movies to flirt with a guy. If he gets the reference – great, that makes you witty and also means you’ve got a similar taste in movies. If he doesn’t get it, well, then he’ll think you’re just really smooth with your chat up lines, and who wouldn’t like that? It really is a win-win situation.
