They seem to know exactly what we’re going through in our life, yet instead of just sitting around and moaning about it, they channel it into their albums and make a career out of it. Just think about, all those pop songs, are so damn relatable. And then there’s Latin pop stars, who seem to be going through the same stuff, but with 3 times more emotions and drama.

Did you know that Christina Aguilera wasn’t even fluent in Spanish at the beginning of her career? Yet, that didn’t stop from becoming one of the best Latin singers in the world. As a bonus for her Spanish-speaking fans, it’s been said that Christina Aguilera will be releasing a brand new Spanish album in 2016.


2. Selena Quintanilla
Selena is the Queen of Tejano music and one of the most celebrated Mexican – American singers of the 20th century. She was called the “best selling Latin artist of the decade” and “top Latin artist of the 90’s” by Billboard magazine. She’s not only a talented singer, but she’s also brave in terms of fashion. She was often called the Latin Madonna for her fashion choices.


3. Marc Anthony
If you don’t know who Marc Anthony is, let’s start with establishing that he’s the top selling tropical salsa artist of all time. He has sold over 12 million albums around the world. He set a Guinness world record for best selling tropical/salsa artist and the most number-one albums on the Billboard Tropical albums chart. No one has managed to top him yet.


4. Juanes
This famous Colombian artist is a proud owner of three Latin Grammy Awards. He’s extremely popular and has sold over 15 million albums around the world. He’s known as the Colombian rocker with a heart of gold. He manages to fuse rock with Spanish folk and creates the grooviest songs ever. It’s impossible not dance when listening to Juanes.


5. Paulina Rubio
Paulina Rubio started her career in 1984 in a Mexican pop band Timbiriche. Eight years later she decided it was time to become a solo artist. By 2000 she became an international superstar and was nominated for three Latin Grammy Awards. In 2013 she became a judge on the American X Factor, alongside Simon Cowell, Demi Lovato and Kelly Rowland.


6. Thalia
Thalia is probably the most well known and influential Mexican singer. She’s often called the Queen of Latin pop. She sings not only in Spanish, but also Filipino, French, Portuguese and English. Apart from being an awesome pop star, she’s also tried her hand in acting and fashion design and was quite successful in both.


7. Jennifer Lopez
We’re just going to assume everyone knows who Jennifer Lopez is. It’s pretty much impossible not to. She does everything. She’s a singer, writer, actress, fashion designer and even a producer. Her Puerto Rican parents must be very proud of their daughter, after all they used to think that her career choice wasn’t a realistic one for a hispanic girl. She’s proof to all Latin girls that if you have a lot of dedication and work hard you can achieve incredible heights.

Ricky Martin is a true legend in Latin pop. Not only is he super famous, his songs are incredibly catchy and there’s literally no chance in hell you haven’t had Livin’ La Vida Loca stuck in your head. He pretty much single handedly brought Latin performers to the forefront of he U.S. music scene by performing at the 41st Grammy’s. His success made it a lot easier for all other Latin performers to move into the English-speaking market.
