We’re used to associating the title of supermodels with ladies like Claudia Schiffer, Kate Moss, Cindy Crawford, Naomi Campbell, Heidi Klum, Gisele Bundchen and sure, those ladies are the original supermodels. In fact, before them the title “supermodel” didn’t really exist. But the times are changing and every day there are more and more girls entering the modeling world who are also worthy of that title. In fact, we think it’s about time to talk about the new generation of supermodels. They’re all very young, but they’re beautiful, talented and already successful, so we think it’s fair to assume they’re going to be huge and in the future we’ll think of them as the supermodels of today.
1. Monika Jagaciak
Monica is a Polish model who started her career at quite an early age. She was only 13 when she was discovered and got a spot in a Hermes campaign. She actually beat 600 other models who wanted to be in the same campaign. She was signed that year by IMG Models and has since appeared in Japan’s Harper’s Bazaar and Spur, she was even supposed to appear on the cover of Australia’s Vogue, but was deemed too young at the last minute, because she was only 14 at the time. Since then she’s walked the runways at New York Fashion Week, walked for Calvin Klein, Praga, Versace, Dolce & Gabbana, Fendi, Marc Jacobs and many others.
2. Kaia Gerber
Cindy Crawford’s daughter, Kaia, clearly takes after her mother. Those supermodel genes are guaranteed to help her become the next supermodel. In fact, she’s already on her way. While her mother started her career at 16, Kaia didn’t wait that long. Her modeling debut happened when she was only 10 and it was a photoshoot for Young Versace. At first her mother said that it was a one-off and they’re going to put a pause on Kaia’s career because she’s just too young for the industry, but it looks like they’ve reconsidered, because Kaia is only 15 now and she’s already won Model of the Year at the Front Row Awards and she’s signed as the face of Marc Jacobs Beauty.
3. Lottie Moss
Lottie is Kate Moss’s little sister and she’s obviously on her way to becoming a famous supermodel too. Lottie was only 13 when she was signed by Storm Management, the same modeling agency as her sister Kate. Since then she’s appeared in multiple fashion magazines and walked the runway for famous designers. She’s been featured in a Calvin Klein campaign too. But even before she was signed by the modeling agency, she was often photographed by paparazzi and called the next big thing. Everyone agrees that she’s got a great future in the modeling world, after all, she is Kate Moss’s sister and those Moss genes are a ticket to success.
4. Sofia Mechetner
Sofia is a young Israeli model and if you think she looks familiar it’s probably because she is the face of Dior. She was only 14 when she got that deal and she still remains the face of Dior. She was criticized a lot because she walked the runway dressed in a very sheer dress and it was deemed inappropriate for someone so young. But Sofia believes that modeling isn’t about sexualization of young girls, she says it’s art. Either way, she’s clearly making waves in the industry.
5. Ondria Hardin
Ondria Hardin is a young model who’s not a stranger to being in the spotlight. She walked the runway for Marc Jacobs at the tender age of 14, she appeared in Vogue China at 15 and was signed for a campaign for Chanel at 15 too. All those are huge accomplishments for someone her age, but what made the biggest splash in her career was the time she was bronzed up and photographed in black and white for Numero, a French magazine, for a spread called “African Queen”. Why was this such a huge deal? Because Ondria is a white, blue eyed girl.
6. Thylane Blondeau
Thylane Blondeau is a young French model who’s only 16 but is already making a name for herself in the modeling world. She first appeared in Vogue when she was a child. She was only 10 years old, and was photographed wearing high-heels, dresses fit for grown women and with a full face of makeup that included a dark red lip and a smoky eye. It was a strange way to enter the industry and there was a lot of criticism but that didn’t stop Thylane. She’s a very successful model who was featured in a Dolce & Gabbana campaign and was recently signed as the face f L’Oreal.
7. Lily Rose Depp
Lily was headed for success from the moment she was born. With such gorgeous parents like Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis she had no choice but to grow up to be a beautiful woman. She’s both an actress and a model, and she’s equally talented in both trades. She’s appeared in 4 movies already and she’s been featured in a couple of Chanel campaigns and she’s only 18. Just imagine the things she will achieve in the future.
