Hotel Kakslauttanen offers you a crystal clear view of one of the seven natural wonders – Aurora Borealis from the comfort of your own private thermal glass igloo. The hotel is situated in The Igloo Village and has 20 thermal glass igloos. Each room represents a dome with crystal clear walls and ceiling. The temperature outside can drop to -22 degrees Fahrenheit, but the glass contains a frost preventative that provides crystal clear view, preventing the glass from frosting and thermal glass itself maintains warmth inside the room no matter, how cold it is outside. The igloos are for up to 2 persons and come with cosy beds and bathrooms.
Also, the hotel offers you snow igloos. Yes, these rooms are made entirely of snow. If you choose to spend a few nights in one, you will be provided with warm sleeping bag, hoods and woolen socks. The temperature inside of snow igloos vary from -26.6 to -21.2 degrees Fahrenheit. Such rooms are for 1-5 persons.

This hotel is the best for people who enjoy safari. Giraffe Manor is a small hotel in the Karen suburb of Nairobi (Kenya’s capital city) that was built in 1932. The hotel is not really big, but it is surrounded by about 57 hectares of secured park where giraffes live. Also, here you can meet the most endangered subspecies of giraffe – Rothschild’s giraffes. Staying in the hotel is a real excitement. It is actually the only place where you can feed giraffes and take pictures of them. Giraffe Manor has 10 rooms and can accommodate up to 25 guests. Treehotel is a unique place that is situated in Harads, magnificent village with a population of about 600 people. The hotel consists of different tree-rooms with contemporary designs, including comfy Bird’s Nest, weird UFO-looking room, capsule-like Cabin, incredible reflective Mirror-cube. The rooms are situated in the middle of the untouched nature, so staying there is really good for your mental and physical health.
This hotel was inspired by the Swedish philosophical film ”The Tree Lover” by Jonas Selberg Augustsen. The film is about three urbanized northerners who are returning to the area, where they grew up, in order to build a treehouse and restore the connection between people and the natural world.

 

The rooms are very comfy, made of eco materials and don’t contain chemical substances. The rooms are warmed up by underfloor heating and provided with electricity that is supplied from green hydroelectric power. Each room includes water-efficient bathroom.

A Victorian-era fort that was built between 1867 and 1880 in order to protect Portsmouth from an attack by Napoleon III but it was never used in active defense.
