When you put words like healthy and fast food in one sentence it looks a bit bizarre. Many will tell you that healthy fast food doesn’t exist, but they’re only half right. Healthy fast food is possible, it’s just that there isn’t enough healthy fast food chains yet, but we’re sure that’s gonna happen in the nearest future. However, that doesn’t mean that there isn’t a way to order something healthy in a fast food restaurant. 1. McDonald’s
Ordering a salad, apple slices or carrot sticks at McDonald’s are obviously the healthiest options, but if you want to satisfy the fast food craving it probably won’t work and you’ll come back for a burger. Instead try going for chicken nuggets or a small carton of fries. They’ll be the least calories while still satisfying your craving for something bad.

 

 

2. Chipotle
Chipotle’s chicken burrito bowl is one of the healthiest things you can order. It’s full of protein and if you skip the cheese and sour cream – it’s a completely guilt free yet satisfying meal.


 

3. Starbucks
Not a lot of people think of Starbucks as a food place. Most of the time it’s a place where you get coffee that has more calories than a happy meal at McDonald’s. However, if you’re ever in a pinch try their chicken wrap. It’s only around 400 calories, and has 12 grams of protein, which makes it a perfect meal on the go.


 

4. Taco Bell
A chicken burrito extreme from Taco Bell can be a surprisingly decent option for lunch. It’s relatively cheap, it provides a lot of protein for one meal and if you get salsa instead of cheese and sour cream you’ll get the sodium levels to very acceptable 1000 milligrams, which is about half of what you need in a day.

Pizza can be healthy if you avoid processed meats and get a thin crust. The healthiest option in Pizza Hut is their vegetarian garden party pizza. Two slices are about all you need to keep the sodium in check and get the satisfaction of having pizza without going over your calories.

Subway sandwiches can actually be pretty healthy if you stay away from heavy sauces and processed meats and cheeses. KFC might be known for deep fried chicken strips, but you can actually get a pretty healthy meal there. Not a lot of people know that they have grilled chicken breast, which is one of the healthiest meals out there, and if you get corn on the side instead of fries you don’t even have to worry about your calories.


 

8. Tim Horton’s
This Canadian fast food chain is known for donuts and coffee, but they actually have healthy options on their menu. For example their Harvest vegetable soup is less than 100 calories per portion and the sodium in it is twice lower than it is in their chilies or cream soup.
