Even though the movies are still just movies, some of our favorite celebrities still have adorable meeting stories that seem like they leaped right off the big screen. Some of these couples made it through to the end, while others ended their romance. Either way, it doesn’t change the magical circumstances under which their paths first converged.
1. Will Smith and Jada Pinkett
The beautiful Jada Pinkett met Hollywood’s leading man Will Smith when she was just 19 and auditioning for “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.” They developed their friendship over the years, and one night, went out for dinner with friends, where Jada really saw the man Will had become. After that, it was history, and they’re still together. As they say, starting as friends really is the best!
2. John Legend and Chrissy Teigen
These two met while shooting a music video, and had a one night stand! Before that, she walked into his dressing room only to see him ironing his underwear. Neither of them knew they were “the one” at first, but it looks like the romance lasted, because they’re still happily married with the kids.
3. Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel
These two unfortunately didn’t make it for the long haul, but they were certainly glorious in their day! Just like Tom and Gisele, they met through friends, in what Timberlake calls a very “un-Hollywood-esque” way. He asked a friend if he could call her and ask her on a date. When Biel replied yes, Justin called her up on the phone — just like the olden, pre-Tinder days.
4. J.Lo and Alex Rodriguez
The most picturesque Latin couple ever met…in a parking lot. Where A.Rod was lost. That’s pretty much the last scenario that we’d expect these two glamorous human beings to meet at. Of course, they had been aware of each other and met several times previously. Also, during this meeting, she was dressed up as Harlee from “Shades of Blue” and he called her beautiful.
5. Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis
This couple has plenty of fans, especially since they played teen lovers on the famous “That 70s Show.” She was just 15 when on the show, and Ashton was her first kiss. Even though she had the “biggest crush” on him, we have to admit that it’s a little gross that she was a minor when it happened. In 2012, the two rekindled their chemistry after being with other people.
6. Julia Roberts and Danny Moder
Another classic case of the crew and the talent falling for each other. But not really. You usually hear about actors and actresses getting into passionate affairs that don’t always end well, but when Julia met this cameraman on “The Mexican” she couldn’t let him go. Here’s an awkward fact: Moder was married when they met, but he divorced his wife in 2002 to marry Roberts.
7. Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen
This is hilarious, but two of the world’s most beautiful people met on a blind date that was set up by friends. Gisele had grown sick of blind dates, but decided to give Tom a chance. She claims that when she saw “those kind eyes” she fell in love with him immediately. It looks like the two are happier than ever.
8. Serena Williams and Alexis Ohanian
Just how did the co-founder of Reddit and one of the world’s best tennis players ever come to fall in love? Well, they just happened to be staying at the same Hotel. One morning, Alexis tried to sit nearby Serena and her friends, but they tried to scare him away but mentioning they saw a rat. Hilariously, he responded “I’m from Brooklyn. I see rats all the time,” caught Serena’s attention and they went on a date in Paris just days later. They’re still together with a daughter.
9. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie
Brad and Angie infamously met on the set of “Mr. and Mrs. Smith” when Brad was still married to Jennifer Aniston. Though the power couple had six kids together, they divorced in 2016. An example of a love story that started out with drama and passion, but dwindled just over a decade later.
10. Felicity Huffman and William H. Macy
These two are famous for some more notorious things than acting nowadays, but their love story started in the 1980s, where Huffman was a student at the Atlantic Theater Company. It also happened to be a place where William H. Macy was a co-founder and teacher. They dated for years, but William had to propose several times before they actually got married in 1997.
