10 Famous Redheads We Love and Adore

Lots of naturally red-headed people or dare we say ‘gingers’ get teased for their hair color when they’re young. There are so many mean things people say about natural red-heads like them having no souls, or that they get a freckle for every soul they steal. And even though natural redheads are rare and only make up about 2% of the population, it’s funny how many red-headed celebrities there are. And we love them and their red hair, be it natural or not. Let’s take a look at some famous redheads, shall we?

1. Amy Adams

Amy Adams is a gorgeous and talented redhead who’s given us some pretty incredible performances both in comedy and drama. She’s won two Golden Globes and she’s been nominated for multiple Oscars and Baftas. And of course, her shade of red hair is so pretty, women all over the world beg their hairdresser to copy it. Her natural hair color is strawberry blonde but she dyed it red once for a movie and liked it so much she just kept it.

2. Jessica Chastain

This beautiful Hollywood actress and producer is actually a natural redhead. She refuses to color her naturally ginger hair even for movie roles. She says she was often teased as a child for her hair color and freckles and just wanted to blend it, but eventually, she realised that having something that sets you apart is actually very empowering. So now she loved her red hair and if the role calls for a different hair color she just wears wigs.

3. Julianne Moore

No one knows for sure if Julianne Moore is a natural redhead or not but she’s been rocking this dark auburn look for a while now and we absolutely love it. Her daughter also has a very similar hair color which makes us think it’s either a natural wonder or they have the same genius hairdresser.

4. Lindsay Lohan

Lindsay Lonah has colored her hair quite a lot and for a while there she was a blonde. But if you look back at her career and how she looked in her childhood it’s fair to assume she’s a natural ginger. Her freckles also prove the point further. We loved her hair color in Parent Trap and it seems like she’s returning to her roots in her new role in a British show with Rupert Grint.

5. Emma Stone

This might surprise many but Emma Stone isn’t a natural redhead, she is in fact blonde. But once she went red she never went back, and even when she changed her hair color for roles, she still returned to her famous redhead look. It just suits her so well!

6. Sophie Turner

Sophie Turner famously played a redhead as Sansa Stark on Game of Thrones, and while we loved the look, turns out Sophie is a blonde and only did it for the role. According to Sophie, it was actually quite daunting to have to consistently color her hair red for years, while she was on the show. She always tried to go back to blonde in-between seasons, but that was so damaging for her hair she just started wearing a wing on the show.

7. Julia Roberts

Julia Roberts was known for her red hair thanks to her role in Pretty Woman. She had big curly red hair then and it kind of became a signature for a while for her to have reddish, chestnut hair color. And while she’s naturally dark blonde and has tried an array of hair color over the years, to us she will always be a redhead.

8. Christina Hendricks

Christina Hendricks is known to be one of the sexiest redheads in showbusiness, but she never kept it a secret that it’s not her natural hair color. In fact, she’s rather proud that people thought it looked natural because she used to just dye it red at home.

9. Lana Del Rey

Lana has gone for a darker hair color these days, but we loved her as a redhead. Her auburn locks looked so shiny and glamorous and suited her so much. We kind of hope she goes back to that hair color, but according to her hairdresser, she’s naturally a level 9 blonde. Who would’ve thought, right? She’s a redhead in our hearts though.

10. Rupert Grint

And just for giggles, we thought we’d include a famous ginger we all adore and have loved since our childhood – Rupert Grint. The famous actor who played Ron Weasley is a proud ginger. He’s had his share of bullying as a child because of his red hair but ultimately it’s what set him apart and got him the role that changed his life.
