Lori Loughlin is known for her role on Full House. Lot’s of you probably grew up watching her play Rebecca Donaldson-Katsopolis on TV. She also returned to play the same character when Netflix did Fuller House, which was way less successful than the original sitcom. Either way, she’s a beloved actress and a household name for many. 1. Lori Loughlin Is A New Yorker
Many people become New Yorkers. It’s a very cool city and many people move there for work opportunities and to experience what it’s like to live there, many stay there forever, some move away. They all call themselves New Yorkers for a while. But Lori is a New York Native. She was born in New York and grew up there.
2. Lori Loughlin Started Young
Lori Loughlin was very young when she realised what she wanted to do in life. She was only 5 or 6 when she first saw the Wizard of Oz and decided – well that’s what she wanted to do, she wanted to become an actress. It just seemed so fun and she says it’s one of her first real memories – watching that movie and wanting to be an actress. She got her first acting role at just 15.
3. Lori Loughlin Is Catholic
Few people know this but Lori was raised catholic and remained catholic until this day. It’s almost a miracle that she kept her faith while being an actress. After all, sometimes you have to battle with morals when playing a role or choosing a project to work on. But Lori says she figured out a way to keep her faith as an actress. She just chose which roles to play based on what her father would say. If she didn’t want him to see it – she wouldn’t take on the role.
4. Lori Became A Model By Accident
When Lori was only 11 she had no plans of becoming a model. She had a friend who was going to a casting and asked her mother if she could do along. Her mother initially didn’t want her to go, but the friend’s mother convinced her to let Lori go with them. To her surprise, she left that audition with a contract. They wanted her as a model.
5. Lori Loughlin’s Husband
Lori was actually married two times. First, she fell in love with and married Michael R. Burn. That marriage lasted until 1996 when they got divorced. However just a year before that in 1995 she met a fashion designer Mossimo Giannulli. They clearly had fallen for each other but hid their feelings until Lori got divorced.
6. Lori Loughlin’s Kids
Lori and her second husband Mossimo Giannulli have three kids. Giannulli has a son named Gianni from his previous relationship, to whom Lori became a stepmother. And they had two daughters together – Isabella Rose and Olivia Jade.
7. Lori’s Was Supposed To Have A Small Part On Full House
Initially, Lori’s character was meant to be a small part of the show. She was supposed to appear in 6 episodes. Her story arch was essentially “a love interest that’s not meant to be”. But the audience loved her so the producers kept her and wrote her in as the main character.
8. Lori Keeps In Touch With Full House
It’s been a long time since Full House was on the air. The show first aired in 1987 and ran for 8 seasons until 1995. And you know what? Lori kept in touch with everyone from the show until this day. She says she’s especially proud of the Olsen twins and what amazing women they grew up to be and that she’s in touch with John Stamos all the time. She says they’re like family to her.
