Believe it or not but many of the people we consider to be celebrities now also had childhood crushes on celebrities. Perhaps even the same celebrities that you had a childhood crush on. They also spent their time watching celebrities on TV and daydreaming about meeting them, but never really expecting it to happen in real life. They also had the walls of their childhood bedroom covered in posters of their childhood celebrity crush or set their face as the screensaver on their phone. It’s just that now they’re all grown up and famous and many of them have crossed paths with their childhood crushes, be it on a red carpet or just at work, or kind of socially, because they’re in the same business. Either way. We thought it would be fun to tell you who were the childhood crushes of famous celebs.
1. Kylie Jenner – Taylor Lautner
When you hear the name Taylor Lautner what’s the first thing that comes to mind? We bet it’s the Twilight franchise. Yeah, that’s what we thought too. Most of the world was split into Edward vs Jacob when it came to childhood crushes. But you’ll be surprised to find out that Kylie Jenner had a childhood crush on Taylor way before he got the part of that hot werewolf. She had a crush on him when she saw him in the movie The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl in 3-D. That’s pretty surprising, right?
2. Kim Kardashian – Johnny Depp
Kim’s childhood crush is much more common. She was obsessed with Johnny Depp when she was a teen. She didn’t specify what movie specifically made her have a crush on him, but it would be around the time Johnny was getting parts in movies like Crybaby, Edward Scissorhands, and Benny and Joon. Who knew Kim had a soft spot for the sweet and innocent era of Johnny Depp.
3. Ariana Grande – Jim Carrey
Ariana’s childhood crush was Jim Carrey. Is anyone surprised she then dated Pete Davidson later on? She clearly has a thing for comedians, or perhaps it’s just true that the secret to a woman’s heart is making her laugh.
4.Greta Gerwig – Leonardo DiCaprio
When she was 13 years old, Greta Gerwig, the successful actress, and director, the genius behind Little Women and LadyBird, went through a phase where she had a massive crush on Leonardo DiCaprio. Didn’t we all? I mean is there a person on this planet over the age of 30 who didn’t? Greta was so enamored with Leo that she kept a folder of pictures of him that she printed off from the internet. She would look through them and kiss a picture of Leo every night. She was just convinced she would marry him one day.
5. Emma Watson – Tom Felton
You always think that the cast of Harry Potter grew up together and they’re all a big happy family, but Emma Watson had the biggest crush on Tom Felton when she was 11 years old. He played the bad boy Draco Malfoy, and when he wasn’t acting he did some skateboarding as a hobby and that just made her little 11-year-old heart race. Unfortunately for Emma, Tom (who’s two years older than her) just saw her as a little sister.
6. Ashton Kutcher – Jennifer Anniston
Ashton was so obsessed with Jennifer Anniston when he was a teen that he had her as a screensaver on his phone. He even bet his classmates $1K that one day he would take her out on a date. It so happens that he got a chance to meet her in his 20s, but she was married to Brad Pitt at the time, so he asked Brad if he could ask her out on a date and Brad said “sure, give it a go”, so he did. But obviously, Jennifer turned him down. That must’ve been heartbreaking for Ashton.
7. Britney Spears – Brad Pitt
Speaking of Brad Pitt, so many of us had a crush on him, and many still do. But Britney was so obsessed with him that when she got a chance to meet him, she didn’t even know what to say or how to behave. She said she was pretty embarrassed that she acted like a complete goofball when she met Brad Pitt, but we get it, it’s hard to meet your childhood crush and act cool.
8. Jason Sudeikis – Ellen DeGeneres
Jason Sudeikis (who we all know as Ted Lasso these days)should’ve known that his crush on Ellen isn’t going anywhere, but you can’t help your crushes. He was already in college when he had a crush on Ellen, apparently, her sense of humor and her beautiful blue eyes just made her irresistible for Jason.
9. Justin Timberlake – Alyssa Milano
Justin’s biggest childhood crush was Sam from Who’s the Boss, played by Alyssa Milano. And when he was 21 he even got to date her for a bit. They had a pretty significant age difference of 9 years, so that was a little weird. Justin says it got a bit weird, but still, not many get to date their childhood crush.
10. Reese Witherspoon – Johnny Depp
Reese Witherspoon developed a crush on Johnny Depp when she saw him in 21 Jump Street. She used to always pull out the posters of him from magazines and put them up on her wall. Yeah, Reese, we’re all guilty of doing that.
11. Selena Gomez – Billy Crudup
If you’ve seen Almost Famous and had a crush on the character of Russell Hammond, you’re in the same boat with Selena Gomez. She was obsessed. And then she got to work with him on Rudderless. That must’ve been both a dream come true and kind of terrifying at the same time.
12. Lena Dunham – Jimmy Fallon
Lena Dunham was crazy about Jimmy Fallon when she was in high school. And in classic Lena fashion, she told him all about it when she first appeared on his show The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon. She had such a big crush on him that she kept a napkin he signed and even at one point wrote a play where they switch bodies and fall in love.
