Known for her talent in music and on the big screen, Gomez is equally adored for her beauty and style. Without further ado, here is a first look into Selena Gomez’ new beauty line.
According to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, Gomez officially trademarked her new beauty line on July 11th, just a week or so before her 27th birthday. The brand “Selena Gomez” was filed under her existing production company called July Moon Productions.
The trademark indicates that Selena is planning to release several beauty, fragrance and skin products.
A beauty line from Gomez comes at no real shock as many of the most popular celebrities have created their own beauty brands. Gomez is in good company, with major beauty lines by Kardashians and Jenners, Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Ariana Grande, and Kat Von D.
Gomez is known for her versatile signature looks, which sometimes feature full-face make up, the fresh face look, and at times totally natural. Some of her go to looks include muted lip shades, smoky or winged cat eyes, and pops of color. Her already well-known passion for fashion and beauty will undoubtedly make her upcoming beauty line a major success. Her seemingly always blemish-free skin is another proponent that should set the stage for her beauty line to do well.
This isn’t Selena’s first crack at commodifying her style within the beauty industry. Back in 2011, she released a namesake fragrance with sports and adventure lifestyle Adrenalina Inc. The fragrance debuted as Selena Gomez Eau de Parfum, with the fragrance’s main essence chosen by her fans through crowdsourcing. She released a second signature fragrance Vivamore in 2013.
The star has also established herself well in the fashion industry, only laying an increasingly strong foundation for a positive reception to the release of her beauty line. She has worked with heavy hitters in fashion like Louis Vuitton on a number of campaigns. She also launched a clothing line with K-Mart back in 2010. And in 2018 Puma commissioned Gomez to design a new range of custom apparel, as well as with coach for handbag and accessory lines. Even before the beauty line, Gomez has become a fashion and beauty force to be reckoned with.
