Do you remember the girl was named “the most beautiful girl in the world” at the age of 6? Yeah her name is Thylane Blondeau and it’s about time we refresh your memory about this gorgeous girl and updated you on what she’s been up to since then. Thylane was born in April of 2001 and started modeling even earlier than she was declared most beautiful. Her first modeling job was at the age of 4, which might be seen as quite controversial. She walked the catwalk for Jean Paul Gaultier, something many models dream of doing, and she did that as a 4-year-old kid.
In case you don’t know her background, Thylane is French, she was born on the Ivory Coast, a West African country with a French-colonial legacy. Her parents are a french footballer Patrick Blondeau and French actress and TV presenter Veronika Loubry. So you know, quite good looking and famous people. No wonder Thylane took after them in terms of looks and fame.
When she was only 10 she Thylane got to grace the cover of French Vogue wearing a gold dress with a deep V-neck and wearing heavy makeup. French Vogue received a lot of criticism when that issue came out, many people accusing them of sexualizing a little kid and saying that kind of photoshoot was unacceptable. Thylane’s parents also heard a lot of hate for allowing their baby girl to be part of this and encouraging such a photoshoot. Thylane’s mother responded by saying that she sees nothing wrong with the photo and that the only shocking thing in it is the necklace the Thylane is wearing that is worth about 3 million Euro.
No matter what people said about that Vogue photo, one thing was for sure – it was a life-changing opportunity for Thylane that definitely propelled her into the world of high fashion. She has since modeled for Chanel, Ralph Lauren, Lacoste, Dolce & Gabbana, and even walked the runway for Michael Kors during New York fashion week in 2017. She’s represented by the IMG agency, which is the same modeling agency that represents Gigi and Bella Hadid, and Cindy Crawford’s daughter Kaia Gerber.
She also didn’t stop at modeling and took up some acting too, Thylane has appeared in a movie called Belle & Sebastian: The Adventure Continues in 2015. Thylane also started her own clothing line called Heaven May. She’s got 3,5million followers on Instagram too which makes her a bit of a social media influencer as well.
All in all, Thylane is 19 years old now, she’s still looking beautiful as ever and she’s still slaying the fashion world as a model and becoming an entrepreneur with her clothing line. As you can see, she was not one of those one-hit wonders or those famous kids who just kind of go viral and then disappear. She built a career and is still doing absolutely great.
