Even if you’ve never been to Ukraine, you must’ve heard the stereotype about how beautiful Ukrainian women are. And while we agree that Ukrainian women are gorgeous, we feel it’s important to view people complexly and pay attention not only to looks but also to a person’s dignity and integrity. So you’re getting a bit more than you asked for, not only do you get to see pretty photos of beautiful Ukrainian women, but you also get to know a little about them, who they are, what they do, what are their achievements and how they work to help their country during the horrible Russian full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
Julia Sanina
Julia is a Ukrainian singer, songwriter, and blogger. Since 2011, she has been the frontwoman of the Ukrainian band “The Hardkiss”.
In 2014, she took part in the photoshoot for the charity calendar “Sincerely”, dedicated to the Ukrainian national costume and its popularization. All funds from the implementation of the calendar were donated to help wounded fighters at the Kyiv Military Hospital and the Volonterska Sotnia volunteering center of the Ukrainian Catholic University.
She was a member of the jury and mentor of the seventh season of the Ukrainian talent show “X-Factor” in 2016. She also was a participant in the seventh season of the Ukrainian TV show “Dancing with the Stars” and took second place. She is a member of the jury of the National Selection for Eurovision 2023.
The Hardkiss (the band Julia is in) is on their Stand with Ukraine charity world tour right now, and they heavily donate their profits to various humanitarian and cultural charities in Ukraine, as well as spread awareness about Ukraine.
Dasha Astafieva
Daria “Dasha” Viktorivna Astafieva is a talented singer, great actress, and gorgeous model. She is known for being the 2007 Playmate of the Year for Ukrainian Playboy and the 55th Anniversary Playmate for American Playboy.
Since the Russian full-scale invasion of Ukraine on Feb 24, 2022, Dasha has joined the volunteer movement, which helps the Ukrainian army in the fight against the Russian occupiers.
Tina Karol
Tina is a Ukrainian singer and actress, TV presenter, model, and public figure. She represented Ukraine at Eurovision 2006 with the song “Show me your love”, where she took seventh place. In 2013, together with Oleg Skrypka, Oleksandr Ponomaryov and Svyatoslav Vakarchuk, she became a coach for the third season of the Ukrainian talent show “Voice of the Country”.
Not only is she a gorgeous woman and a talented singer but she also has strong principles and an active civic position.
Starting from 2014, when Russia first invaded Ukraine, she refused to perform in Russia. In February 2022, after the start of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine, she left for Poland and created an “informational resistance center” in Warsaw.
On April 20, 2022, Karol was banned from entering the territory of the Russian Federation for 50 years. During the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine, she began touring with charity concerts.
Masha Efrosinina
Masha is a famous TV presenter, public figure, and founder of the “Charity weekend” series of charity events. She’s often seen presenting on Ukrainian TV channels and she took part in the Ukrainian Dancing with Stars. She co-presented the 50th Eurovision Song Contest in 2005 in Kyiv to a pan-European TV audience of an estimated 150 million people.
In May 2018, Masha Efrosynina became Ukraine’s first Honorary Ambassador of the UN Fund in the field of population.
In June 2022, the “Masha Foundation” together with the Association of Jewish Organizations and Communities of Ukraine VAAD launched the “Unbreakable Mama” project. This is a rehabilitation program for women and children affected by war, specially developed by professionals in the field of psychotherapy and post-traumatic syndromes.
Jamala
Jamala is a Ukrainian singer of Crimean Tatar origin, she performs songs in the styles of jazz, soul, funk, folk, gospel, pop, and electro, and participates in opera productions and shows. She’s the winner of Eurovision 2016 with her song “1944” about the Deportation of the Crimean Tatars. In 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2022 she served as a judge at the Ukrainian national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest.
She is touring the world right now with a charity tour, collecting funds for the support of the Ukrainian army. Jamala, being of Crimean Tatar origin, knows very well how cruel the “russian world” is and she’s doing everything she can to help the Ukrainian army liberate Ukraine, especially Crimea.
Yaroslava Gres
Yaroslava is a Ukrainian public figure, publicist, marketer, journalist, and blogger. She is the project manager of the “Corruption Park” for the Anti-Corruption Initiative of the European Union in Ukraine. She’s also the organizer of the project “the Museum of News in Ukraine. She was the world’s youngest editor of the star magazine HELLO (Ukraine). In 2018, she was included in the ranking of “100 most influential women of Ukraine” according to the version of Focus magazine.
Yaroslava is also the Co-founder of PR agency Gres Todorchuk. After the Euromaidan events, the agency focused only on the implementation of cultural, educational and social initiatives. Since then, the company has implemented more than 40 projects.
During the period 2014-2016 Yaroslava collected more than 1 million hryvnias for charitable purposes. She is also the coordinator of UNITED24 – the initiative of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
