Weddings are always talked about as the most important day in one’s life, and they’re also known for being notoriously difficult to plan. There are just so many things to be taken into consideration. The location, the venue, the theme of the wedding, how many people to invite, seating arrangements (so that people get along), the music (do you get a band or a string quartet), the catering (do you get restaurant catering and waiters or funky food trucks), decorations, floral arrangements, photographers and videographers – all these things take immense amounts of planning. And don’t even get me started on the dress. Finding “the one” can be more difficult than finding the man you want to marry. But certain things you just can’t plan, there are always surprises on the way and some of them are really amazing.
We bet Megan and Luke had no idea that the florist they hired to make the wedding bouquet will accidentally create the yummiest treat for one special little deer. But as life’s always like that – it just throws surprises at you. However, you’ve got to agree, as far as unpredictable circumstances go – this one was pretty cool.
Megan and Luke were just planning to have a normal woodland photo shoot in the field. They went to their wedding location later in the day, after dinner, and were hoping to get a lovely golden hour photoshoot against the gorgeous backdrop of nature, when they encountered an uninvited but not unwelcome adorable little wedding crasher.
The deer in question was just grazing on some grass near a fence and noticed the couple as soon as they came into the view. You’d think the furry guy would at least compliment the dress Megan was wearing but he clearly forgot all about manners and went straight for the bouquet. What an animal, am I right?
Megan and Luke, however, didn’t despair, they took the challenge in stride and turned it into an opportunity. They let the deer munch on the bouquet, moving it around, holding it up so the deer would jump, while their photographer was snapping away as many pictures as possible to capture this incredible moment.
In the end, the deer won with the score of deer 1: 0 wedding bouquet. They left it to enjoy the flowery dinner and when they came back a bit later the deer was nowhere to be seen and all that was left from the bouquet was a single rose. Just like on the Bachelor.
And while the evening turned out to be a little overcast and they didn’t have the pleasure of that incredible golden hour lighting – they got something much better. A unique unplanned and glorious photoshoot with a deer that many couples would pay through the nose for.
