Meghan Markle might have been the most famous celebrity pregnancy of 2019, but plenty of other stars ushered in little ones. Some did this more quietly than others, many A-listers welcomed new members of their family, and we can’t wait to celebrate their arrival.
1. Anne Hathaway
Although this star keeps a strong privacy wall around her personal life, when the internet found out that Anne Hathaway was pregnant with her second child on Instagram, social media and the rest of the world. In the caption accompanying her baby bump selfie, she said “please known it was not a straight line to either of my pregnancies,” expressing sympathy to other mothers going through fertility or birthing issues. She currently has a three year old son named Jonathon Rosebanks, who she conceived with husband Adam Shulman. The post was from July 2019. In December 2019, she was spotted with a newborn in a baby carrier.
2. Blake Lively
On October 5, 2019, US Weekly announced that Blake and Ryan welcomed their new baby into the world just a couple of months earlier. We’re honestly impressed that these two A-listers can juggle three kids who are simultaneously under the age of six. She hilarious calls her and her husband “outnumbered.” The couple previously had two children. James, 5, and Inez, 3, both had a tough time adjusting to the new baby, and we get it! Sometimes you just need the spotlight all to yourself. No name has officially been released, but we can’t wait to find out what the happy couple has chosen, since their three-year-old’s name is so lovely.
3. Meghan Markle
The Duchess and Prince, who recently relinquished their royal titles, had their first child in May of 2019, Little Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor. Coming in at just over seven pounds, Harry said after his wife gave birth, “it’s been the most amazing experience I can ever possibly imagine. This little thing is absolutely to die for so I’m just over the moon” We have a feeling we’ll be seeing a lot of babies named Archie in the near future. The baby was slightly overdue, which had the public and the royals worried, but Archie came out perfect as ever.
4. Kim K
The controversial couple is once again welcoming another child into their beautiful family. As you can remember from the first time around, pregnancy was a nightmare for poor Kim, so she and Kanye decided to have a fourth by surrogate instead. On May 10, they welcomed their new baby into the world, joining their three children North, Saint, and Chicago. The child’s name is Psalm, which means “song” and shows up frequently in the Bible’s old testament. in a Twitter caption, Kim wrote “We are blessed beyond measure. We have everything we need.”
5. Shay Mitchell
Everyone remembers shay being pregnant and still looking like a total bombshell in her photos. The ex-PLL actress is a first time mom for her and Babel, who met through mutual friends in January 2017. Although it’s the first baby for this couple, in 2018, Shay suffered from a miscarriage, which she bravely opened up about in her YouTube pregnancy series called ‘Almost Ready” which shared her story and provided support for other moms-to-be. Her daughter’s name is Atlas Not, speaking to her lifestyle as a citizen of the world.
6. Keira Knightley
Keira Knightly and her husband James Righton already have one lil’ cutie – a four year old named Edie. In the middle of September, James and Keira welcomed their new baby Delilah. Keira has been outspoken about her pumping schedule, helping reduce shame and stigma around mothers feeding in public. She’s also been quite honest about how moms don’t always have time for things that singles do, making candid remarks like, “This is about the third time since I gave birth that my hair has been brushed—and I didn’t brush it” calling her post-pregnancy glamour “all smoke and mirrors.”
7. Amber Rose
The buzzed beauty and her music executive boyfriend chose an unusual name for her baby that might bring to mind a certain Guns n’ Roses member. On October 10, Slash Electric was born. She intentionally named their child that because she knew he was a rockstar from the start. During her pregnancy, Amber suffered from hyperemesis gravidarum, which causes severe nausea, electrolyte imbalance, and weight loss. While she wanted to have cute selfies that showed off her belly, her condition sadly didn’t allow her to. She has one other child from her previous marriage with Wiz Khalifa -a six year old named Sebastien.
8. Amy Schumer
Schumer and her husband Chris Fischer said hello to their son Gene for the first time on May 5. The world found out with a caption that subscribed to Amy’s cheeky sense of humor, reading : ”10:55 pm last night. Our royal baby was born.” The comedian, known for her brash sense of humor, said that she completely changed after having a kid in “a million ways” to be precise. The biggest surprise for Schumer was how her own relationship to her mother changed: “I’m just nicer to my mom,” she commented. She was back to performing standup only two weeks after birth – now that’s a strong woman!
9. Kehlani
Kehlani gave birth in May to a beautiful little girl called Adeya. The she-warrior powered through a difficult home birth with zero medication, but the R&B singer expressed that it was the most powerful thing she’s ever been through, although it was difficult. She and her partner Javaughn Young-White have an unconventional relationship – he also happens to be her guitarist. They both understand each others fluidity in who they are attracted to – neither of them identity as straight, and that’s ultimately what bonded them close enough to start a family together.
10. Miranda Kerr
Somehow, Miranda Kerr has had three kids and still looks like the bangin’ supermodel that she started off as. She showcased her pregnancy glow at multiple points through her journey so that fans could watch her growing bump. Their other kids are Hart, 17 months old, and Flynn, her 9 year old with her ex Orlando Bloom. The happy couple released a statement saying, “We are overjoyed at the arrival of Myles and so appreciate everyone’s kind words and wishes during this special time.” They welcomed Myles on October 15th.
