Chloe Kim is only 21 years old, and she’s taken the sports world by storm. Everyone has their eye on this  promising young snowboarder, who’s set to take home a gold medal after earning a halfpipe gold metal at the 2018 Pyeongchang Olympics in South Korea. Here are all the things you need to know about this shining star and role model to many little girls out there.

1. Chloe Kim is trilingual, meaning she speaks three languages. She spent two years attending school in Switzerland, and speaks English, Korean, and French.

2. Chloe Kim is the only X Games athlete to earn three gold medals before her 16th birthday.

3. Chloe attended Princeton University after winning her gold medal, and while she waited until 2019 to attend, she stated that her first year was difficult due to being recognized all the time and the fact that she “just wanted a normal college experience.”

4. Her birthday is April 23, 2000.

5. Kim’s family originally comes from South Korea, where they still have family.

It was a six hour drive from their family home, but her dad would wrap her up in blankets in the middle of the night so that she could get a full night of rest and be on the mountain ready to snowboard when it opened.
