Hollywood is known for brief relationships and short-lived marriages. We’re used to it by now, but it’s always amusing to see exactly how quickly celebrities fall in and out of love. It’s even more amusing to see them just straight into marriage (something most people would call a lifelong commitment) and then change their minds seemingly overnight. Here are some of the shortest celebrity marriages.
1. Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries
While Kim is in the middle of her third divorce let’s focus on the fact that with Kanye it lasted 6 years, but her marriage with Kris Humphries lasted only 72 days. That’s just 2,5 months from the day they got married to the day they filed for divorce.
2. Pamela Anderson and Rick Salomon
These two have managed an even shorter marriage. A classic Las Vegas marriage, it never lasts. They got married in October and filed for divorce in December. Two months together is all it took. Weirdly enough they did get married again, later, stayed together a bit longer, and then got divorced again.
3. Drew Barrymore and Jeremy Thomas
Drew has been known for her wild antics since the 90s. She married a bar owner when she was only 19 and then filed for divorce 39 days later. That’s slightly over a month. But hey, she was 19, she had no time for second chances and marriage counseling. You’re in one day and out the other, teenagers have a one-track mind.
4. Mario Lopez and Ali Landry
Mario Lopez sure made some questionable choices back in the day. He married Ali even though he knew he wasn’t being faithful to her. As fate would have it, Ali found out about it pretty quick and the marriage was annulled only 18 days after they said “I do”.
5. Eddie Murphy and Tracey Edmonds
Eddie and Tracey had a private wedding ceremony in Bora Bora but didn’t even last through the honeymoon. Apparently, they argued a lot and Eddie yelled at Tracey in public on multiple occasions, which must’ve been very embarrassing. They split 2 weeks later. Thankfully the wedding ceremony they had in Bora Bora wasn’t really a legally binding thing in the US, so they technically didn’t even file for divorce, they just both stated they are better off as friends.
6.Cher and Gregg Allman
Cher definitely rushed into this one just days after divorcing her previous husband. However, she realized her mistake pretty quickly and 9 days later the marriage was dissolved. Many have speculated that they only got married cause they’ve had a bit too much to drink. Cher’s comment on the whole situation was short and to the point, she said: “ I’ve always believed it best to admit one’s mistakes as quickly as possible”. What a legend.
7. Carmen Electra and Dennis Rodman
These two had a very passionate relationship. On good days it was amazing, on bad days it was horrible. And we do mean days because the marriage lasted only slightly over a week. Nine days after getting married Dennis filed for divorce claiming that he was drunk on the day when they got married. How cliche of him.
8. Nicolas Cage and Erika Koike
Nicolas Cage has been married quite a few times, but this particular one was the shortest of them all. The funny thing is that apparently Nicolas and Erika were seen arguing even when they were applying for the marriage license, and 4 days later Nicolas was filing for annulment or divorce.
9. Britney Spears and Jason Alexander
This famous joke of a marriage lasted only 55 hours. Britney was celebrating New Years’ when she and her childhood friend decided it was a good idea to get married, so, you guessed it, they went to Las Vegas and made it official. Only to annul it in 55 hours.
