She’s getting married! The news was confirmed by her partner’s manager Brandon Cohen, to People Magazine and was announced 3 months after her appearance in court.
Brit and her swoon-worthy actor and fitness trainer bae Sam Asghari have been in a long-standing relationship for quite some time now (around 5 years), and they made things official in September 2021, with Spears posting a video on her IG account where she showed off an impressive engagement ring. The pop singer’s ring was designed by NYC based designer Roman Malayev. Her happiness was clear, and the accompanying caption was filled with a ton of ring and heart emojis.
Britney met Sam in 2016, when he co-starred with her in the video for “Slumber Party”. With the waves of support and love that Britney has been getting from fans all over the world due to her conservatorship battle, we’re sure that she’ll receive just as much support regarding her newly announced nuptials.
The 39-year-old has let it be known that the terms of her previous conservatorship arrangement stopped her from marrying the 27-year-old Asghari or having any more kids.

But this so-called team won’t let me go to the doctor to take it out because they don’t want me to have … any more children. So basically, this conservatorship is doing me way more harm than good.”
Out of 1.8 million votes total, Britney snagged 4% of the vote. Following close behind Britney in the TIME poll is health care workers during COVID-19, Vaccine Developers, and K-pop band BTS. Simone Biles came in 5th.
While many people are happy for Spears and her fiancée, her fans are still urging her to go with a prenup and protect her assets due to her unusually vulnerable position, and the fact that Sam is over a decade younger than her. After all, the singer has been divorced twice, and while she deserves all the congratulations and celebrations, a prenup is an act of self-love and self-care, which are the two things that Spears needs most since this court battle.
Even a celebrity came to put her two cents in about the situation. Octavia Spencer authored a comment that earned over 20,000 likes, saying “make him sign a prenup.” She’s definitely that one level-headed friend that grounds you back down to earth when you’re floating on Cloud Nine and maybe acting a little prematurely.
Luckily, Sam out everyone at ease when he wrote the perfect lighthearted hilarious rebuttal on his IG with a hint of sarcasm, saying, “Thank you everyone who is concerned about The prenup! Of course we’re getting iron clad prenup to protect my jeep and shoe collection in case she dumps me one day.”
