Rumi and Sir Carter have some seriously famous parents. You can name-drop them practically anywhere in the world, and people will know who they are. This power couple had their first kid, Blue Ivy Carter, back in 2012 and knew right away that they wanted to make their family bigger soon after Blue’s birth. In a 2023 interview with ABC News, Beyonce said, “I would like more children. I think my daughter needs some company.” Queen Bey added that she loved being a big sister and wanted the same for her little one.
Although it didn’t happen as quickly as the couple and the public thought it would after that interview, Bey and Jay eventually added more members to their family. After announcing that she was expecting twins in 2017, she broke the internet.
The “Crazy in Love” singer shared her pregnancy news in a now-famous photoshoot on social media, featuring an ironic floral theme and many shots of Beyonce holding her belly. In the post, she wrote,
“We would like to share our love and happiness. We have been blessed two times over. We are incredibly grateful that our family will be growing by two, and we thank you for your well wishes.”
The Bey Hive and many others left over ten million likes, and the images filled social media feeds around the globe. Only a few months after announcing their twin pregnancy news, Beyonce and Jay Z welcomed Rumi and Sir in June 2017. It’s been a few years since they were born, and the two are growing up fast.
Twins Rumi and Sir Carter look just like Bey and Jay
Although it seems like just yesterday that Rumi and Sir were tiny babies, many are wondering what they’re up to today. Although much of Blue’s childhood was spent in the spotlight, the stars have gone to great lengths to keep the twins’ lives private. However, the Beyhive gets a look once in a while.
One of those moments was in November 2022, when Beyonce shared a snapshot of the whole Carter family dressed up as Disney’s “The Proud Family” with the caption “Family every single day and night.” Although everyone’s costume was phenomenal, Rumi and Sir stole the show since there are so few pictures of them on the internet, and the two look just like their mom and dad.
Rumi’s sense of style is already out of this world. When Madonna attended the Renaissance World Tour and met Queen B, she also met six-year-old Rumi, who was rocking a silver top with matching silver Dior sneakers and a pair of jean shorts. Like mama, like daughter — Bey has always loved the silver aesthetic; now her youngest daughter does, too.
Rumi and Sir Carter are making more public appearances
As they get older, the twins are appearing more frequently in the public eye. In Beyonce’s trailer for her concert film “Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé,” fans get to see how the twins have grown up over the past few years.
Although the flick will focus on Beyonce’s new era of music, it will also give a sneak peek at her home life with her kids. From Rumi doing stretches with her mom to Sir giving the “Lemonade” singer an adorable kiss, there’s no shortage of sweet family moments.
We even get to see a young Rumi throwing a blanket off her shoulder like her mother does during her set. It looks like showmanship runs in the family!
Rumi has also joined Beyonce on different tour stops, with a flick from 2023 showing their youngest daughter watching the show along with her dad, Jay-Z, and shouting “Hey Mrs. Carter” with the crowd.
Although she’s grown up over the years, she’s still clearly a mommy’s girl and greatly admires the “Formation” singer. Although she’s made more public appearances than her brother, Sir, the release of Beyonce’s upcoming concert movie will hopefully show us more extensive behind-the-scene moments of the entire family. At least that’s what the Beyhive has their fingers crossed for!
