One actress we have all heard of, no matter what era we were born in, is Shirley Temple. At one point in time, this child star became synonymous with show biz. Getting started during the Great Depression era, Shirley Temple represented a happier time and place, and hope and innocence that many were struggling to hold on to during the harsh time of the Great Depression. She began her career at a very young age, merely 3 years old. She eventually left show biz and started a career in politics, serving the United Nations as a United States diplomat. She had three children Charles Alden Black Jr, Lori Black and Linda Susan Agar. Sadly, Shirley Temple passed away at the age of 85 back in 2014. Are you wondering what her children are up to today, and what was their life like with their mother? Read on to find out what Shirley Temple’s kids are doing now.
Online sources say that her children were very close to Shirley Temple, and they all spent a lot of quality time together. “She was wonderful — and normal,” Charles Jr. told Closer Weekly. “We had dinner at the table every night all together.”
Her daughter Linda Susan Agar seemed to have spent some great time with her mother. “Being a wife and mom is the greatest of her achievements,” Agar said. “We were shopping and travel buddies. We went many places together. She was one of my very best friends.” They are all said to have had great relationships with Temple.
Now, her kids are all grown up and living lives of their own. They have not led lives in the spotlight like their mother, especially her daughter Linda Susan Agar. She has kept herself very well out of the limelight, and has only been seen publicly while doing interviews about her mother. One of the aspects that has kept Linda, also called Susan, in the news is the birth of her child, Shirley Temple’s grandchild, Teresa Caltabiano. She had the great fortune of watching her grandchild grow up, who eventually made Shirley Temple a great grand mother! Teresa had a child, Shirley Temple’s great grandchild, and eventually two other children. Teresa did not follow in her grandmother’s footsteps either, but chose a career that is still worthy of praise. She is an English teacher at Northwestern Middle School, in Apharetta, Georgia. Her students even describe her as “super cool.”
Charles Alden Black Jr. seems to be one of the only of Shirley Temple’s children that tried their hands at acting. He does have an IMDb profile, with a credit listed from his mother’s show called Shirley Temple’s Storybook, who he appeared in with his two sisters Lori and Linda. He is now listed as a real estate agent.
Lori Black was once a performing artist, making music under the artist name Lorax. She played the bass and performed with the bands called The Melvins and Clown Alley. She has had her fair share of hard times, The Daily Mail reported that she was addicted to drugs for a long time and was able to get sober and transcend that challenge with the help of her mother Shirley Temple. Back in 2014, sources reported that she was doing work as a freelance photographer.
Unfortunately, Shirley Temple is no longer with us. But her legacy will live with her children, and in the wonderful, joy inspiring entertainment she provided her fans for so many years.
