The Kardashians are no strangers to scandal and being under media scrutiny. While Kim is used to being in the spotlight for her sometimes shady antics, her sister Khloe is just as controversial. Over the years, Khloe has evolved from an outspoken twenty-something to a wife, mom, and successful businesswoman. But alongside her accomplishments, Khloe has done some pretty sketchy things over the years.
Khloe has been involved in a number of scandals, from promoting weight loss products and receiving criticism from Jameela Jamil to being involved in an FDA-related scandal for making misleading claims about a prescription migraine medication.
She went to jail for a DUI
Back in 2007, Khloe served three years of community service and probation due to a DUI arrest. She was also required to attend an alcohol education class. After violating her probation, she went to jail for a month the following year. However, she only spent three hours in jail because it was overcrowded. Long after the incident, she said on “The Kardashians” that her best friend did her hair for the mugshot and she did her makeup. Clearly, she took his very serious offense with a grain of salt.
Her husband, Lamar Odom, cheated, making headlines
Khloe and Lamar’s marriage was filled with very public infidelity and substance abuse. According to the women Lamar cheated with, Khloe had them and their families followed and investigated. In 2016, the couple eventually divorced, which the former Lakers player discussed in detail in his memoir “Darkness to Light.”
She was accused of assault
In 2011, Khloe Kardashian faced accusations of battery and assault. The victim, a transgender woman called Chantel Spears, had made a comment saying Lamar Odom was too young to get married. Khloe pushed her, but after she was slapped with a lawsuit, she tried to claim self-defense.
Khloe was named in a multi-million dollar lawsuit
Another lawsuit came Khloe Kardashian’s way in 2012—a $5 million one, to be exact. She and her sister Kourtney were accused of falsely promoting QuickTrim diet pills that didn’t work and were ineffective. They requested that the case be dismissed, which was eventually done in 2013.
Khloe Kardashian appropriates Black culture
Many of the Kardashians have been accused of “Blackfishing” or appropriating Black culture. Khloe was accused of this in 2019 at Diana Ross’s birthday party, where she wore a curly blond afro. She also wore cornrows in an Instagram post on a beach.
Her second husband, Tristan Thompson, also cheated on her
Khloe Kardashian doesn’t have the best luck with men. Their five-year relationship was filled with several cheating scandals and drama. It began in 2018, when the athlete was seen spending time with an anonymous woman in a hotel. An inside source called him a “serial cheater” and news was also revealed that he secretly had a third child during his relationship with Kardashian. On her Hulu show years later, she admitted feeling humiliated and betrayed.
Khloe Kardashian blamed Jordyn Woods for destroying her family
Jordyn Woods got between the Kardashians when news broke that her boyfriend at the time, Tristan Thompson, was unfaithful with Kylie Jenner’s best friend, Jordyn Woods. Witnesses saw the two displaying PDA and making out at a party. When Khloe found out, despite her boyfriend having multiple affairs, she blamed the whole thing on Jordyn Woods, writing in a tweet that Jordyn’s lack of honesty was the reason the Kardashians had rifts with each other.
She’s been caught in endless photo editing fails
In 2021, an unedited photo of Khloe went viral. It showed the celebrity’s natural appearance but was quickly removed. Shortly after, the family’s chief marketing officer explained that the photo wasn’t meant to be posted online and was mistakenly posted on social media by an assistant.
Just a few years later, Khloe found herself in another scandal when the internet accused her of over-editing an IG post, with commenters saying they didn’t recognize the person in the photo. Khloe has been open about body dysmorphia over the years, but much of the public accuses her of promoting unrealistic beauty standards and making the problem worse.
During the LA wildfires, people called Khloe a hypocrite
In 2025, Khloe kept up her reputation of outrageous behavior when she went on Instagram to call out an alleged arsonist arrested by the LAPD, posting, “Arson!!!!! May you be fully prosecuted!!! What scum!!!” After her unsolicited rant, she dissed the LA mayor, Karen Bass.
It was later revealed that the mayor had cut the fire department’s budget, which Mayor Bass said still shouldn’t have affected the ability to put out fires. Khloe called the mayor a “joke” online, and social media users quickly reminded the Kardashian of the time she used an excess of water (300,000 gallons, to be exact, which was 100,000 gallons over the limit) during a drought. The amount was used in just a single month.
