It’s official: the king and queen of music and fashion are officially expecting their first child together. Rihanna is pregnant with her and A$AP Rocky’s first child, and she is absolutely glowing. Rihanna showed off her baby bump with pride as the couple took a walk in Harlem looking happy and in love, A$AP tenderly kissing her forehead on their snowy stroll.
Her outfit was clearly a major announcement moment, wearing jeans paired with a bright pink jacket unzipped to reveal her entire belly. A gold cross and some other jewels rested on the adorable bump in an iconic style moment.
The walk was short, as NYC has been getting some chilly weather recently, and the two headed back to their apartment shortly after. However, all it took was a few moments for the paparazzi to snap a few pictures, revealing to the world that a third member will soon be entering this very fashionable family.
Rumors have been going around for months, as the singer was seen wearing baggier clothes than usual, as well as oversized bags that she’d place over her stomach.
They say that the best relationships start out as friendships, and that’s exactly what happened with RiRi and A$AP. After her breakup with billionaire Hassan Jameel, TMZ reported that the rapper and Rihanna were spending a lot more time together than usual, exhibiting some pretty cozy PDA. Anyone who looks at photos of them, even as friends in the early to mid 2000s when she starred in his “Fashion Killa” video, can see that there’s undeniable chemistry between the two of them.
Ever since news of their relationship went public in 2020, they’ve been spotted everywhere in NYC showing love to each other and wearing, of course, only the best coordinated outfits in their sightings together. They also spent time together at the 2021 Met Gala. In an interview with GQ, A$AP Rocky confirmed that Rihanna and him were an item, calling her his “lady” and the “love of my life”.
After being asked what it was like to be in a relationship, he answered with the sweetest comment possible, saying, “So much better when you got the One. She amounts to probably, like, a million of the other ones. … I think when you know, you know. She’s the One.”
Furthermore, when the interviewer asked him if he was ready to be a dad, he says that if it’s in his future, “I think I’d be an incredible, remarkably, overall amazing dad. I would have a very fly child.” With RiRi as the kid’s mom, we don’t doubt it.
In 2019, Rihanna spoke at her Diamond Ball, commenting, “I’m a black woman. I came from a black woman, who came from a black woman, who came from a black woman, and I’m going to give birth to a black woman. It’s a no-brainer. That’s who I am. It’s the core of who I am in spirit and DNA.”
Clearly, this comment was a foreshadowing moment as we fast forward a couple of years later. We have no doubt that this empowered queen is going to tackle motherhood with all the fierceness, kindness, and strength that she approaches everything else in life with. The singer was dubbed a national hero by her country of origin, the Bahamas. Before that, the business mogul had been working hard on part three of her Amazon Prime “Savage X Fenty” show.
Just a year ago, Rihanna opened up about wanting to have four kids in her lifetime, and would even have them alone if she couldn’t find the right partner. She said this to “British Vogue” in February 2020 when asked how she saw her life a decade from now. Lucky for her, she did find the right partner in soulmate A$AP Rocky, and we can totally see these two with a laughing household full of children.
This kid will definitely inherit some fantastic style and musical genes, but beyond that, we can’t wait to see what the little cutie will look like, and whether it’s a boy or a girl. Will we see a marriage in the cards sometime soon for these lovebirds now that they’ve added a third? Only time will tell.
