Kate Middleton has been making headlines recently for her cancer diagnosis, but there’s something else people are talking about: the Princess of Wales’ nose. Middleton has numerous features that the public admires, from her chestnut hair to her royal chic wardrobe. However, her nose is the one physical feature that has launched a worldwide plastic surgery trend. The princess’s nose became an extremely popular cosmetic surgery option for women around the world as she became more well-known in the public eye.

When this trend first arose, plastic surgeon, Dr. Stephen T. Greenberg commented that the procedure had become so popular that his team had “made a file of a dozen Kate Middleton pictures” to present patients with when they would come to the clinic for a consultation. The journalist in this original article also interviewed the Lenox Hill Hospital director of facial plastic surgery, Dr. Thomas Romo, alongside a patient who requested the now-iconic Kate Middleton nose.

Dr. Romo established that approximately 100 of the rhinoplasties he had done were to mimic Kate’s nose, and the number of requests skyrocketed when Princess Kate and Prince William’s wedding took place. He added that his patients were “looking to a natural nose on a beautiful woman,” and since the Duchess was often on TV or in newspapers and magazines, people looked to her as the perfect model of a petite, perky nose.

Before the rise of Kate Middleton’s popularity, Romo added that Jennifer Aniston’s nose was the previous standard that people would come in and request due to the show “Friends.”

Jessica Blaier, a patient who requested the Middleton rhinoplasty, said that she wanted the procedure because as soon as she laid eyes on Kate’s nose, she knew it was an ideal look for her, combining all the different celebrities that Blaier expanded, “The bridge swoops. The tip doesn’t fall when she smiles. And it’s feminine.” That said, people didn’t immediately notice that Blaier’s nose was a Kate Middleton copycat, and she’s absolutely fine with that. However, she’s happy with the inspiration that she chose.

One study proved the popularity of Kate’s nose with British plastic surgery patient

In Great Britain, the Transform Cosmetic Surgery Group was created to find out which celebrities their patients most wanted to look like. A spokesperson mentioned that people were opting for stars who are “sophisticated and naturally beautiful.”

Kate Middleton’s nose was the most popular celebrity feature in all of the United Kingdom. What we all want to know is: why is the princess’s nose in such high demand, right?

Doctors believe that the Princess of Wales’ nose has a straight shape with an adorable, rounded tip that many people desire. Additionally, her nose is in proportion to her face. All of these factors created a striking appearance that made people want to look just like her. Since Middleton was often photographed smiling, it gave people the idea that they would be happy with her nose when they were currently unhappy with their own.

Multiple women who had rhinoplastic surgeries to be a Kate Middleton lookalike said that they were delighted with the results. One patient, Danielle Murray, said that it “dramatically changed” how her whole face looked, and part of that reason was that she was smiling a lot more often due to the results of the surgery.

Brits were also drawn to Kate’s sister Pippa’s features, leading many patients to seek a buttlift to mimic the younger sister’s derriere. The Middletons are high up on the list of plastic surgery inspiration, and it doesn’t look like they’ll stop trending anytime soon!
