Dr. Jill Biden might be the queen of elegance and poise, but she’s also not afraid to get casual and sweat it out during a workout. Like her husband, Joe, Jill is a major fan of healthy eating and working out. In fact, her exercise ethic is quite impressive. At 73 years old, the First Lady looks younger than her years, and her youthful skin is proof that her strict regimen pays off.
While we’re still waiting for her to drop the skincare routine, her workouts often include going for jogs up and down the White House Driveway (there are fewer security staff trailing her if she remains on the property), going to spinning classes at SoulCycle.
SoulCycle is a facility that combines indoor bikes with weights for a heart-pumping, strength-training-infused workout. When she opts for a more intense workout like this, she’s most likely rocking the athletic looks most women wear to exercise, like comfortable T-shirts, leggings, and sweaters.
She’s clearly not wearing one of her iconic pantsuits! Another thing she’s not wearing? A ton of makeup. Many of us would agree that there’s a time and a place to show off a full face of cosmetics, and the gym is not it. Jill’s workout look is a practical, pulled-back ponytail and a clear face – with just a touch of eyeliner.
Dr Jill Biden’s bare-faced glow is due to a healthy lifestyle
First Lady Dr. Jill Biden is committed to her active and healthy lifestyle. This commitment to healthy living is why she has such a stunning complexion and needs minimal makeup.
The FLOTUS is often seen in photographs wearing little to no makeup. Exercising and sweating regularly can also lead to a glowing complexion. Since the 2020 Democratic National Convention’s intro video for Dr. Biden, which shows her lacing up her running sneakers to head out for a run, her love for fitness has been clear.
In an interview with Runner’s World, the First Lady commented, “I think that running creates a sense of balance in my life. And it really calms me down.” Whenever she has time, she attends her other favorite workout—SoulCycle classes. She even attended one during a trip to London after watching King Charles III’s coronation.
Maintaining a healthy diet also helps Jill Biden maintain her youthful, glowing skin. While we all have our indulgences and cheat days, she has explained to Women’s Health that she prefers fresh food to “fried cafeteria food.”
In the same interview, she mentioned that this is why she packs her own lunch from home when she teaches classes at Northern Virginia Community College. Her favorite foods include fish and vegetables, which are both nutritious and contain many important vitamins that keep skin clear, happy, and healthy.
Continuing a legacy of healthy First Ladies
Before Jill, Michelle Obama was also committed to a healthy lifestyle and never neglected her self-care through fitness and diet. While Michelle Obama’s aesthetician has discussed the former FLOTUS’s skincare routine, Mrs. Obama’s dedication to healthy habits has been clear since her Let’s Move campaign, where she worked hard to make American school meals more nutritious and requested that restaurant chains and food companies implement lower-salt, lower-calorie, and lower-sugar food items.
