Women’s fashion is constantly changing and evolving, so sometimes we feel like we constantly need to buy new things just to stay on trend and keep up with the times. But you know what’s timeless? Men’s fashion. And coincidentally men’s fashion looks great on women too, so why not wear some of their clothes? We’ve co-opted trousers and jeans and suits a long time ago, but they make them different for women – tighter, shorter, more constricting. Men’s clothing is so much more comfortable. Once you try it you’ll never want to go back. Here are a couple of things you can definitely borrow from your boyfriend or just buy in the men’s section.
1. Basic Button Down
Basic shirts are incredibly versatile, especially if they’re oversized. You can wear it as a dress if your boyfriend is tall, you can tie it up to make it look very artsy and boho or you can tuck it in with a belt for a sleeker, more professional look.
2. A Blazer
Long oversized blazers are so popular right now. Women everywhere are buying them like there’s no tomorrow. But you can also borrow one from your boyfriend’s closet. It’s gonna look great with a dress or it can dress up regular jeans and a t-shirt. If your boyfriend has any blazers with patterns on – you’ve struck gold!
3. Denim Jacket
Women’s denim jackets are often made tight, cropped or have a pattern on them. Who’s idea is that? Seriously, can the shops please stop doing that? We’re all just looking for a plain oversized denim jacket, preferably one we can fit a sweater under. And you can definitely find that in your boyfriend’s closet.
4. Leather Jacket
Oversized leather jackets are in trend right now, so raiding your partner’s closet for one can be a great idea. You’ll look cute, you’ll feel cosy and you won’t have to worry about your arms feeling like sausages if you wear a hoodie under it. Plus there’s just something about oversized men’s leather jackets that’s super cool and rock’n’roll.
5. Bomber Jacket
Wearing a men’s bomber jacket might give you a flashback to your high-school years when your boyfriend would let you wear his. They’re cosy, they’re warm and they’re the perfect addition to a casual outfit on a windy day or a great way to dress down a look.
6. Sweater
If it just me or are men’s sweaters just better? No matter how oversized you buy it in the women’s section, nothing beats an actual men’s sweater. There must be some weird conspiracy out there. But the point is, men’s sweaters rock and you can wear them just as an oversized sweater with leggings or you can wear it as a dress.
7. Hoodie
Again, men’s hoodie is just superior. They just feel softer and cosier and seem to be made of much better sturdier material. I mean if you want to reach the ultimate cosiness level you just have to wear a men’s hoodie – it’s the law.
8. T-shirt
If you want a basic t-shirt that will look super casual and won’t cling to your every curve – a men’s one is the way to go. It’s the perfect thing to tuck into your high-waisted jeans. You knew that already, I probably didn’t even have to tell you that.
9. Hats And Scarfs
Hats are unisex, but if you want a plain one and not a bright pink one with girly patterns – your boyfriend’s closet might be the place to look. Same goes for scarfs really, there are no rules, you can definitely wear his. And if he uses cologne you’ll have the added bonus of smelling like your man.
