Sometimes saying desserts, croissants and all kinds of baked goods and alcohol is not enough to get a chiseled figure and confidently wear light dresses. Fat burning and your metabolism in general also depend a great deal on the amount and quality of fluids you consume daily. We’re not saying you should go on a liquid diet, that would be actually detrimental to your health. But ditching sugary sodas, lemonades, and multiple lattes and frappuccinos you consume on the daily basis and replacing them with healthier drinks might be a good idea, you know?
Water
Drink as much water as possible – it is honestly the best and the cheapest drink out there. Not to mention the fact that water is vital for your organism and it’s water that helps your body eliminate toxins. Some of you might be surprised, but you don’t have to drink “8 glasses a day”, the amount of water you need is based on many factors like your size, weight, height, the foods you eat, etc. But it is important to drink enough to keep hydrated and try to drink the majority of it in the first half of the day to avoid swelling from water retention that can happen when you drink too much before bed.
Green Tea
Green tea is known to be great at helping your body get rid of toxins, normalizing your digestive processes, and cleaning out your gastrointestinal tract. That also generally results in weight loss and reduces bloating. But still, green tea isn’t magic. You can just eat a cake and follow it up with a cup of green tea to make it all better. However, it can help you feel better after having a big meal by speeding up digestion.
Ginger lemonade
There’s a reason people are taught to drink ginger tea when their tummy is upset. Ginger can really soothe your stomach and it’s also great at speeding up the metabolism. But if ginger tea isn’t your thing, you might want to try ginger lemonade. It’s pretty easy to make. You just need ginger, freshly squeezed grapefruit juice, mint, water, and a teaspoon of honey. Mix it all up with some ice and you’ve got yourself a delicious, healthy, and refreshing drink.
Kefir
Kefir is a fermented drink, and we know fermented things are good for your digestion. Nutritionists recommend drinking kefir every day. Kefir is full of good bacteria that promote a healthy microflora in your intestines, which in turn fixes your digestive issues and can lead to natural weight loss. You can also add spices like cinnamon, turmeric, cardamom, coriander, or cloves to increase the benefits of kefir and speed up your metabolism.
Smoothie
Drinking smoothies isn’t synonymous with a week-long fast or a liquid diet, or some sort of crazy detox. Smoothies can easily be incorporated into a normal diet and replace a sugary snack. For maximum benefits try making smoothies with metabolic-boosting vegetables like broccoli, spinach, celery, ginger, lettuce, cucumber, and parsley.
Protein Shake
Most of us eat too many carbs or fats, but not enough protein. And yet protein is the most important thing when it comes to weight loss because it’s the protein that makes us feel full and what helps us build muscles. So if you want to shed some pounds, it might be a good idea to incorporate protein shakes into your diet. A protein shake is a great idea for those who constantly miss breakfast but then overeat during dinner. A protein shake will keep you feeling full for longer, preventing overeating later in the day, while also supplying you with much-needed protein.
