Have you ever fallen out of love with your favorite TV show character because of something they did that gave you the ick? Here are the most unforgettable (and unforgivable) moments that made us all give up on these characters.

1. Andy takes off – The Office

Andy, played by Ed Helms, first showed up on “The Office” in Season 3. While viewers had mixed feelings about him in the beginning, he quickly became a beloved character on the show who experienced lots of growth. However, in the last season of the show, he abandons his girlfriend Erin, who already struggled with abandonment issues, to go sailing with his brother in the Caribbean, cementing him as a selfish and heartless person.

2. Deb’s disturbing feelings for Dexter – Dexter

Despite the fact that Dexter Morgan was a serial killer, he always looked out for his adopted sister, Deb, no matter what shocking things he did in the shadows. But after six seasons, the relationship got a little creepy when Deb realized she was in love with him. Viewers could handle murder, but a sister falling in love with her brother was an alarming step too far for many fans of the show.

3. Nate’s unforgivable betrayal of Ted – Ted Lasso

Coach Ted Lasso was one of the most loveable characters ever on TV, which made this betrayal sting even more. Ted treated everyone around him like family, and a member of that family was his protégé and assistant coach Nate Shelley. But when Nate becomes jealous of Ted, he betrays him by telling the press about his anxiety attacks and ditching him for another team. While they eventually made up, many viewers never got over this shocking act.

4. Carrie dumps Aidan – Sex and the City

Carrie’s love life on “Sex and the City” was a rollercoaster. The columnist in NYC had an on-and-off relationship with Mr. Big, and while the drama may have been juicy, it was certainly toxic. So when the perfect and kind Aidan came on the scene, we were all rooting for him. Sadly, Carrie broke up with him, even though she was the one who initially cheated on him with Big and he had the heart to forgive her. When she cut things off, it was ruthless, and we questioned ever seeing her as the romantic she made herself out to be.

5. Rory drops out of Yale – Gilmore Girls

Lorelai Gilmore was so proud of her daughter Rory for getting into an Ivy League school but prayed that she wouldn’t become a spoiled rich kid. But no one could have foreseen what happened when Rory had a bad internship experience and in response, stole a yacht and refused to take accountability. A domino effect of bad choices and a hurt ego led her to drop out of Yale, and fans who once saw her as sweet and charming weren’t quite so charmed anymore.

6. Fiona puts Liam’s life in danger – Shameless

Fiona from “Shameless” didn’t have any easy life as the sole caretaker of her many siblings. She sometimes went off the rails, which was understandable given the level of responsibility she was thrown at a young age. But when she cheated on her partner with his brother in season 4 and somehow ended up possessing narcotics, she left the drugs out, and her younger brother Liam ingested them. He was hospitalized, and she was arrested. It was a heartbreaking moment that resulted in seriously poor decision-making.

7. Ross’s mistake when he and Rachel were on a break – Friends

Paleontologist Ross was always the goofy guy of the “Friends” group who was head-over-heels for Rachel. They ended up together but were on a break (it’s an ongoing argument about whether they were actually broken up at the time), and during this period, he slept with someone else. He even dared to think Rachel should be grateful for keeping the affair discreet. It turns out this nice guy really was a jerk.

8. Spike physically attacks Buffy – Buffy the Vampire Slayer

Before this episode in season 6, fans loved Spike the vampire. He had a steamy, forbidden love story with his slayer Buffy, but in one episode, things took an aggressive turn when Spike pinned Buffy to the floor. Although the series was filled with terrifying monsters, this was the scariest moment for many viewers, and the actor who played Spike even called it the most difficult scene he’s ever filmed.

9. Alex ditches Jo for Izzie – Grey’s Anatomy

When Dr. Alex Karev first showed up at Seattle Grace Hospital, he was seen as the cocky and obnoxious intern. Over the course of 16 seasons, we learned that he actually had the capacity to be caring, as shown in his relationship with Dr. Izzie Stephen. But when Izzie was no longer in the picture, “Grey’s Anatomy” fans had to get used to Karev’s intense relationship with Dr. Jo Wilson. One day, he suddenly left Jo without talking to her and saying goodbye. It was revealed that he went back to Izzie. Nobody likes a ghoster!

10. Daenerys brings destruction to King’s Landing – Game of Thrones

The Game of Thrones penultimate episode was a dramatic one filled with epic moments. Jamie Lannister decided to die with Cersei, his sister, while Daenerys went down a rabbit hole and showed us her dark side. She quickly descended into madness, ordering her army and dragons to ruin Kings Landing. Many viewers felt it was a rushed season that didn’t let viewers adjust to falling out of love with Daenerys.
