In the early and mid 2000s, Anna Nicole Smith was a famous model, TV personality, and actress. She rose to popularity with her bombshell blond looks after being awarded with the 1993 Playmate of the Year title. While this Marylin Monroe lookalike never had a public relationship with Hugh Hefner, she did get married to another elderly man named J. Howard Marshall II, who she met when she was working as a stripper in Houston back in 1991.
He was an 89-year-old oil tycoon who died soon after they married in 1994. For the next year, the widow fought hard to get a piece of her late husband’s estate. She briefly had her own reality show from 2002 to 2004, and then died of a drug overdose in 2007.
She had a 20-year-son who tragically died from a drug overdose, and just three days before his death on September 7, 2006, she gave birth to a daughter named Dannielynn in the Bahamas. Just one year later, in 2007, Anna Nicole herself passed away at the young age of 39, found in a hotel room in Florida.

It’s been 14 years since the infamous Smith passed away, and today, her daughter Dannielynn Birkhead is a gorgeous teenager who is the spitting image of her mother. Dannielynn and her father Larry Birkhead recently starred in a 20/20 special titled Tragic Beauty, where Dannielynn finds out more about her mother, who she doesn’t know much about.
Larry thought the show would be a great way for the two of them to go back to Anna’s beginnings and rediscover parts of her life that they weren’t aware of before. In the 2-hour special, they go to her hometown in Texas as well as conducting interviews with others who were close with the starlet. One person from her past says to Dannielynn, “You are your mommy” in regards to how similar the two look. They talk to her high school friends, and went to her regular spots that she frequented before getting famous and leaving the small-town life.
The circumstances regarding this young lady’s birth were tragic, but today, she lives life as a normal teen thanks to her dad Larry. People are always asking her dad if his daughter is going to be a model or actress, but it seems like Dannielynn has no interest in the same fields as her mom, and is just enjoyed being a kid for the time being, getting her fame from acting in school plays.
Still, when she was six years old, she did have a modeling gig for Guess Kids. This was the one time she followed in her mother’s footsteps, as Anna Nicole was a Guess model in her past.
Even though she didn’t have a chance to get to know her mom beyond the age of five months, the young Ms. Birkhead has always looked up to her mom’s image, and agreeing to do this campaign was a way to further a connection with her mother.
While Anna Nicole is sometimes spoken on with an airhead reputation, her late lover Larry says that “Anna should be remembered as this larger-than-life figure that was really a caring, giving person, a beautiful lady who loved her fans and loved her family.” Larry has worked hard to keep Anna’s memory alive and in a positive light, for the sake of her daughter. The media and gossip magazines tore Anna Nicole apart, and we can’t imagine the effect that’s had on her loved ones.
According to Larry, Dannielynn has a big heart just like her mom, along with being her doppelgänger. From that radiant smile and blond locks to her rosy cheeks and full lips, she really is a spitting image of her late mother. After observing a side-by-side collage, the two have identical eyebrows, nose and eye shapes, and that once Birkhead matures out of her teen phase, that the two will look extremely alike.
In 2019, when she and her father made their annual appearance at the Kentucky Derby, she paid tribute to her mom by wearing the same hat that Anna Nicole wore to the events back in 2004. We wonder if her love for acting will move on from school plays to a TV or film role in the future.
